‘Killer cyclist shouted at crash mum’
CASE Kim, left, and Alliston A CYCLIST accused of killing a mum-of-two shouted at her as she lay mortally wounded, a court heard.
Charlie Alliston, then 18, was allegedly doing 18mph on a fixed-wheel track bike with no front brakes before he hit Kim Briggs, 44.
Witness David Callan said in a statement read to the Old Bailey: “The cyclist clattered to the ground further down the road but quickly sprang to their feet and shouted something at the pedestrian.”
Jurors heard Mrs Briggs suffered “non-survivable brain injuries” in the crash in Old Street, East London. She died in hospital later.
Alliston, 20, of Bermondsey, South London, denies manslaughter and causing grievous harm by wanton and furious driving. The trial continues.
