Mobile video jails husband

POLICE used phone video to prosecute a husband for sexual abuse when his wife would not give evidence.

She reported him for raping her and handed over footage as proof but later refused to cooperate.

At Newcastle crown court the husband, 35, was convicted of causing sex activity without consent and jailed for 10 years. He cannot be identified. Northumbria Police said it was a first and a message to people “who think they are outside the law”.
