TAKE PATH TO SAFETY

- Brian Ross, Portsmouth M Tuplin, Ulceby, North Lincs T Bevan, Warks

#I thoroughly endorse what Fiona Phillips said in her article about pavements (Mirror, Aug 12). Taking a stroll really is like an obstacle race.

Having said that, as a car driver can I enter a plea that pedestrians take a bit more care when crossing a road?

I was turning left recently and had to stop suddenly to avoid a pram that had been pushed into the road by a parent who presumably hadn’t looked. I was promptly rear-ended by a cyclist.

Luckily he was okay but I guess he will probably ride on the pavement in future!

#Perhaps I am being a bit naive, but why is it okay for the UK and the US to have nuclear weapons, but when countries like North Korea are close to getting them, all hell breaks loose?

Yes, Kim Jong-un is dangerous, but so is Trump. Don’t let him talk the UK into joining this playground farce.

#Following the recent comments of two disgruntled readers about Nadiya Hussain’s apparent over-exposure on TV (Madeuthink, Aug 9 and Aug 11).

I think there’s a distinct lack of Asian presenters on TV, so I’m happy to see her on our screens.

She is a talented, enthusiastic cook and a good role model. Keep up the super recipes Nadiya, you’ve got me as a fan!
