NEW-BOY Phil Edmonds spun England to a commanding position in the third Ashes Test at Trent Bridge. Australia had no answer to the Middlesex debutant’s brilliant 5-17. The Aussies were struggling at 107-8, in reply to England’s 288 all out, but they salvaged a draw and took the Ashes after victory in the first Test.
