Craig is stirred into being Bond again

U-TURN Craig in NY on Tuesday DANIEL Craig has confirmed he will return as James Bond despite once saying he would rather “slit his wrists” than play 007 again.

The actor put an end to speculatio­n during an appearance on The Late Show in New York.

When asked if he would take the role for a fifth time, Craig replied: “Yes.” He then told TV host Stephen Colbert: “I have been quite cagey about it.

“I have been doing interviews all day and I’ve been coy. But I kind of felt like if I was going to speak the truth I should speak truth to you.”

Craig, the seventh actor to portray Ian Fleming’s secret agent in movies, insisted his comments following his last Bond appearance in 2015 came just two days after shooting the film had finished when he was exhausted.

But on Tuesday, he said: “Instead of saying something with style, I said something really stupid.”

His other Bond appearance­s came in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
