BIG-GAME HUNTER BACK TO TARGET YANKS

- BY ADAM HATHAWAY TV games: England v USA, 2.30pm, ITV4; Wales v Hong Kong, ITV4, 5.15pm; France v Ireland, ITV4, 7.45pm

ENGLAND boss Simon Middleton has urged his big guns to lay it all on the line in today’s potential death-orglory Women’s World Cup clash with USA, in Dublin.

Only the three group winners are guaranteed a place in Tuesday’s semi-finals and England and the Americans have two wins from two in Pool B.

Middleton has made 10 changes, including four positional, to the side that smashed Italy 56-13 on Sunday, with skipper Sarah Hunter back to lead from No.8 and playmaker Katy Mclean restored at fly-half.

England’s starting XV, including eight girls who won the tournament in 2014, boasts a mammoth 735 caps.

Middleton said: “This is a winner-takes-all game, in terms of topping the pool, and will require a full 23-squad effort to get the job done.

“Regardless of whether players start or will come on as finishers, everyone has equal weight in the team and knows what their role is.”

In Pool A, New Zealand face the 2014 runners-up Canada, with the winner set to top the group, and Ireland face a must-win against France in Pool C, with both unbeaten.
