Mum Naomi plans to raise £1,000 for her own funeral
A TERMINALLY ill mum of three is fundraising for her funeral so her kids can give her a good send-off.
Naomi Betts, 39, has a rare condition called congenital heart block. She slipped into a coma four times last year and is receiving end-of-life care in hospital. She hopes to raise £1,000 so Tia Louise, 20, Deon Luke, 14, and Kaiden Lee, 11, can pay for the funeral.
Naomi, whose mother died from the same condition, said: “I am trying to help them for when I am not here.
“It is hard fundraising for your own funeral but I do not want to be the cause of pain for them.
“I miss being a mum to my children — some days I can’t get out of bed because of the morphine.”
Naomi, of Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts, will raise funds with a lip sync, where people mime songs on stage, over the bank holiday weekend.
