# The Brexit talks are complex and most of the arguments go over my head, but it would seem the ideal time, while dealing with the problem of the border of Northern Ireland and the Republic, to hold a vote on the question of a united Ireland.

I think Brian Ross of Portsmouth needs to read The Highway Code (Madeuthink, August 16). It states drivers must give way to pedestrian­s when turning left at road junctions. In light of the cancellati­on of the project to build a Garden Bridge over the Thames at a potential cost over £200million, I’m left wondering what on earth the £37m developmen­t costs were spent on? It’s all flushed down the Thames now. Allan Williams East London #
