Never one to miss a trick, the hospitality operators at V Fest have ensured headline act Jay Z will feel right at home at this weekend’s gigs.
The rapper - who is performing his only 2017 European tour date at the festival - will be welcomed with 44 bottles of Ace of Spades champagne for him and his entourage in his dressing room. Jay David Bowie, Marc Bolan and Thin Lizzy’s producer Tony Visconti has landed a new Sky Arts series in which he’ll hunt out top new British talent. Tony Visconti’s Unsigned Heroes, kicking off in September, will see Imelda May and Stewart Copeland scope out new artists. The series culminates in a gig filmed at London’s Union Chapel in July. Hot new South-east London duo Blessed – made up of R&B/ dancehall sisters Lauren and Georgia Morgan – released new track See Through All The Colours yesterday, (whose album is titled 4:44 - now you see what they did there) bought the Armand de Brignac champagne brand in 2014. A favourite with celebs, the latest special edition from the line retails for £650 (but there are only 2,000 around). Jay, 47, performs in Staffordshire tonight and Chelmsford tomorrow. and it’s already poised to be a late summer smash. Check it out. Elvis Presley almost extended his run as the soloist with the most UK Number 1 albums as his 50 Greatest Hits album was 200 copies ahead of Ed Sheeran in the album charts earlier this week. But not even Elvis can outperform Sheeran, so the King only managed No 2. This week marked 40 years since his death, and his hits are mega performers on streaming sites, with 90million streams of Can’t Help Falling In Love on Spotify. Rudimental headline the MTV stage in Chelmsford today and Staffordshire tomorrow, with James Arthur on the same bill earlier in the day. What’s your party trick? I actually did a fire breathing course when I was 18 so I pair that with my tap dancing experience and it goes off.
Tell us secret: My girlfriend really likes it when I tap dance in my superman boxers.
What were you doing at 3am? DJing in Ibiza. Pink might look like an international pop star and behave like one – calling one Twitter troll “Rip Van Winkle” when they claimed they hadn’t seen any of her videos – but there is still no glamorous way to pump breast milk.
The 37-year-old singer – mum to nine-month-old Jameson Moon and six-year-old Willow Sage – clipped on these breast milk pumps and took a selfie, as you would, captioning her Instagram pic: “#pumpupthejams #mombreak.”
