I was cleaned out by HMRC

A CLEANER had to live on £30 a week when HMRC logged her £11,000 income as £110,000 by mistake.

Tamara Deane, 35, was forced to borrow from pals after last month’s error as her tax credits were halted.

The mum of two, from Bethnal Green, East London, said: “They said they’d sort it but I had to call back four times. I had to live off my child benefit, which is £30 a week.”

A HMRC spokesman said they do not comment on individual cases.
