11/4 BET OF THE DAY FRONTIERSMAN
THE stellar names have stood their ground so far for next week’s Great Voltigeur Stakes and Juddmonte International at York.
Barney Roy, Churchill and Ulysses head a field of 15 for what should be a scintillating renewal of the Juddmonte, a race won by the great Frankel five years ago.
Meanwhile, Irish Derby one-two Capri and Cracksman are set to renew rivalries in the Great Voltigeur. I’ll be throwing my lot in with Ulysses in the Juddmonte. Unfortunately I don’t have a lot.
The Michael Stoute-trained Ulysses edged out Richard Hannon’s three-year-old Barney Roy in the Coral Eclipse yet Barney Roy is priced up as the Juddmonte jolly.
It will come down to who times their run at the right time. Ulysses has the quicker turn of toe and is sure to have a say at the death.
