Suncream has a shelf life of two to three years, so long as it’s not stored at high temperatur­es or in direct sunlight, so make sure you keep it in a cool or shaded place at all times.

Before using suncream, check the bottle for an expiry date. You should never use it after the use-by date, because you won’t be protected from the sun’s harmful rays. The British Associatio­n of Dermatolog­ists recommends that you use suncream with an SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30. You should also ensure that the suncream you use offers protection against UVA and UVB radiation.
