BP GIVEN REEF GRIEF

-

Protesters targeted oil giant BP yesterday, slamming its fishy plans to drill near the Amazon.

Greenpeace paraded through central London before handing over a petition with more than a million signatures at BP’s headquarters.

Campaigners are angry that BP, and France’s Total, plan to drill for oil near a vast coral reef at the mouth of the Amazon off the coast of Brazil.

Sara Ayech, from Greenpeace, said: “However hard they try – and they seem to be trying quite hard – we’re not going to let BP ignore the reef.”
