Pope’s Russia trip ‘on cards’
THE Vatican has said there is “positive momentum” behind the idea of Pope Francis visiting Russia.
But Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin suggested more work was needed to make it happen.
Speaking in Moscow beside Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, he did not give any date.
Parolin will also meet Russian Orthodox Church head Patriarch Kirill.
The Pope hopes to boost ties between Eastern and Western Christianity, which split in 1054.
