Vitamin B link to lung cancer
HIGH doses of B vitamins can dramatically raise the risk of lung cancer in men who smoke, a study shows.
Taking 55 micrograms daily of B12 for 10 years was four times more likely to develop the disease.
Male smokers on more than 20mg daily of B6 tripled the chances.
Dr Theodore Brasky, of Ohio State University, said: “Our data is a concern.”
Millions in the UK take supplements of the vitamins, which are found in red meat, fish and poultry.
