Thomas Cook 1st back in Tunisia

-

MASSACRE Flowers at Sousse beach THOMAS Cook is the first UK travel firm to offer holidays to Tunisia since an ISIS gunman killed 30 Britons at a beach resort in June 2015.

The move comes after the Foreign Office last month lifted its travel ban.

Trips start from February 13 at hotels in Hammamet, 60 miles from Sousse, where fanatic Seifeddine Rezgui attacked holidaymakers.

Cook’s customer welfare boss Carol MacKenzie was in a team checking on action taken by Tunisian officials and hotels. She said: “I noticed the increase in security presence.”

Rival TUI, which owns First Choice and Thomson, said it would look at whether to resume holidays.
