OAP John Lewis stands guard over his bird box built to look like a speed camera after it was targeted by thieves.

The grandad, 79, had the box in his garden on an 8ft pole to deter speeding drivers.

It was swiped by someone who “must have had a few beers”, said John, but later recovered and returned to him.

John, of Llangollen, North Wales, now plans to set his creation in concrete.

That should slow down both drivers and would-be thieves.
