TAYLOR-MADE FOR LIFE IN HULL

- BY TREVOR BAXTER

SCOTT TAYLOR helped Wigan beat his beloved Hull FC in the Challenge Cup final four years ago.

But now that he has switched sides and will play against the Warriors in the final on Saturday, Taylor (left) wants to commit his future to Hull for the rest of his career. He started his career with the ‘enemy’, Hull KR, and had a loan spell with Salford Red Devils. But now he’s home, the Black and Whites’ front-rower doesn’t want to leave again.

“Playing for Hull FC means everything,” said Taylor. “You can never say never because they might not want me. But all I can say is this is my team. I wanted to play for them all my life and it’s the happiest I’ve ever been.

“Nothing makes me more proud than running out with that Hull FC badge on my chest. So if someone said do you want to sign a 10-year deal, I’d sign it tomorrow.”

‘He’s one of our own,’ sing Hull fans of the England prop, currently contracted until the end of 2019.

So after last year’s defeat of Warrington (right), Taylor is desperate for Hull FC to retain the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup against one of his former teams at Wembley. “We can become the first team in the club’s history to win it back-to-back so the pressure is well and truly there,” he added.
