DOCUMENTARY
HEROINES Nat and Natalie
BBC2, 8pm At the grand old age of 97, Charles Eugster was considered Britain’s fittest OAP. In just two years, he managed to win multiple world championship titles and two world records, having taken up fitness and bodybuilding in his late 80s.
Charles is just one of the subjects of this fun and inspiring documentary which follows a group of men all over the age of 90 as they pursue their dream of becoming world champion athletes.
Charles sadly died in April, but this film captured him determined to break the world record for the long jump.
Meanwhile, 92-year-old Peruvian Hugo Delgado competed to keep his title as one of the oldest, fastest sprinters in the world.
They are a highly competitive bunch, all hell bent on achieving their goals. But they have extra guts and guile as they battle major obstacles, from early onset dementia to terminal lung disease.
