GAMBLING RUINS LIVES

-

We hear about poverty increasing, with families living on hand-outs while relying on food banks and help from charitable organisations.

Meanwhile, more and more betting shops are appearing in town centres, and when you turn on the television, there are adverts from betting monopolies telling you how easy it is to off-load your hard-earned cash.

Yet the Government stays silent as ever more people become addicted to gambling – some even taking their lives because of the debt they get into.

Stronger legislation is required to tackle gambling as it’s ruining lives. I just hope someone is listening. John Wilmott, Hucknall, Nottingham
