Jealous cop planted drug on WPC lover

Undercover officer jailed for 7yrs

- EXCLUSIVE BY BARRY KEEVINS mirrornews@mirror.co.uk

A JEALOUS policeman who planted drugs on his WPC girlfriend and posted a sexy picture of her online was jailed for seven years.

Joe Prasad, 31, wept as the judge told him he had struck at the heart of British justice.

The dad-of-two set up partner of three years Nikki Yianni by hiding two wraps of ecstasy in her handbag.

He also posted a picture of her in underwear to her police training class friends.

As he was taken away, weeping Prasad shouted: “Mum, I love you.”

The court heard he was jealous of Ms Yianni’s contact with male recruits when she joined the force. The undercover drugs PC, arrested in Romford, Essex, was found guilty of perverting justice. His brother Dominic, 27, of Hainault, North East London, was convicted of helping him and jailed for three years. Lewes crown court, East Sussex, heard Prasad reported his girlfriend on a Crimestoppers line reserved for police to inform on staff. Christopher Amis, prosecuting, said: “He didn’t like his partner being surrounded by male colleagues. A more cynical and deliberate conspiracy to pervert the course of justice it is hard to imagine.”
