VICKY IN LINE FOR FAIR PAY
Brilliant Line of Duty actress Vicky McClure has confirmed she gets the same pay as her male colleagues in her role as Det Sgt Kate Fleming.
Asked about the BBC gender pay gap, she said: “I just don’t get why men would feel they have the right to get paid more than women.
“It doesn’t happen on Line Of Duty, let me tell you that.”
Amazingly Vicky could have lost out on the role at her try-out in 2011.
At an Edinburgh International TV Festival masterclass she said to creator Jed Mercurio: “I had a really bad audition, didn’t I? I remember missing my mouth when I was meant to get a bottle of water.”
Sadly, Jed tells us we have a long wait for a new series. “I’m writing it next year, we begin filming October 2018 so the earliest would be 2019.”
It can’t come soon enough...
