Triumph of tragic Martyn’s sister
A GIRL who sat her GCSE exams just days after her brother was killed in the Manchester blast has been awarded 11 A* grades. Martyn Hett used to joke Nikita, 16, was bad at maths but she said yesterday: “I think he would have been proud of me.” Her family said the day after Martyn, 29, was confirmed dead they had found Nikita on the stairs in full school uniform, tying her shoelaces ready to take the first of her exams.
Brother Dan said: “We’d been through something absolutely unreal and were all trying to figure it out.
“Under the most horrific conditions she didn’t skip a beat. Sleeves rolled up. Nothing wasted, despite it all.” He said he was “amazed” by his sister, who attends independent Stockport Grammar, Gtr Manchester.
