FAN-TROUBLE SIDES SWEAT ON FA ACTION
BLACKBURN and Burnley face an anxious wait to learn whether they face FA action after their League Cup derby was marred by crowd trouble.
Lancashire Police charged four fans last night, following Burnley’s 2-0 win, while the FA wrote to both clubs for their observations and asking for video footage of a number of flashpoints which led to five arrests.
One fan grabbed Clarets scorer Jack Cork (left) around the throat before f fellow players intervened.
The FA does have the rightih to hand clubs a disciplinary charge if they feel they did not do enough to control their own fans.
A Blackburn spokesman said: “The club is working closely with the police and football authorities. We will assist fully with this investigation, as well as conducting our own internal inquiry, and will seek to take appropriate action.”
