Fleabag will hop back for a new series
BBC sitcom Fleabag is to return for a second series.
Star and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge revealed at Edinburgh TV Festival how she struggled to find a plot – until a moment of inspiration on the bus.
Phoebe, 32, said: “I asked myself if Fleabag has more to say – and frankly she hasn’t shut up since.
“Series two will be a whole new adventure, and I’m beyond thrilled to be coming back.”
Filming is set to start next year for screening on BBC Three in 2019.
The first series, also starring Jenny Rainsford as Boo, came from Phoebe’s play of the same name.
BBC comedy boss Shane Allen said: “The show has been rightly hailed as a modern classic.”
