Teen killers caged for 15 years after burning car as man slept

TEEN thieves who killed a dad-of-three by throwing a marine flare into his car have been jailed for a total of 15 years.

Car-wash boss Vilson Meshi, 31, died of smoke inhalation in 1,3000C flames while he slept in his Audi A4.

Keani Hobbs, 18, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named, were found guilty of manslaught­er and theft.

Judge Patricia Lynch called HORROR FIRE Hobbs, Meshi their actions “stupid and dangerous”, adding they thought “it would be fun to throw a lighted flare into the vehicle”. Albanian Mr Meshi was in the car park at Pitsea, Essex, in February last year after driving from Manchester to see his children, Chelmsford crown court heard. Hobbs, of Basildon, Essex, was jailed for nine years and the boy, of Camberwell, South London, got six years.
