Buckingham Palace police guard attacked with sword
A POLICE officer was attacked with a sword outside Buckingham Palace last night, reports claimed.
Witnesses told of a “lockdown” around the palace, posting images of police vehicles at the gates with blue lights flashing.
It came after a man armed with a machete was reportedly shot after attacking soldiers in Brussels. Witnesses said they heard gunshots as a heavy police presence gathered in the Belgian capital. Pictures showed paramedics working inside a police cordon.
Two soldiers were injured in the city centre attack at Boulevard Emile Jacqmain, local media claimed.
Thomas da Silva Rosa tweeted: “A man with a machete attacked soldiers in Brussels centre, now shot dead.” The death of the attacker was unconfirmed.
