May protects fatcat bosses she attacked
THERESA May attacked greedy bosses to mask a U-turn on plans to curb fatcat pay, it is claimed.
The PM accused some business leaders of “abhorrent” wage packets.
But plans to name and shame corporate chiefs will be watered down by the Government this week.
Original proposals for workers on boards and shareholder votes on bosses’ pay will be replaced by promising staff a “louder voice” either on an advisory panel, or through a dedicated board member or employee representative
TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady said: “If the Government was serious about reining in executive pay, they’d be putting workers on company boards too.”
