Joy and sadness at carnival for Grenfell

At 3pm, the buses lining Ladbroke Grove lowered their sound systems as costumed performers and spectators remembered the 80 victims of the fire in West London, just a few streets away.

Doves were then released by the survivors of the tragedy, as well as by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and the local MP Emma Dent Coad.
