Cowell: We’re bored of same old singers

THE X Factor has banned a load of “boring” past contestants from auditioning for the new series.

Ahead of the hit show’s return on Saturday, Simon Cowell said: “We didn’t want the same people coming back again. Now, there are a few who have been on the show before.

“But when you’ve just got the same people coming back year after year, it’s boring for us; boring for the audience.”

It seems to have paved the way for more foreign acts than ever before.

Show boss Simon said: “People are flying in from all over the world to be on the show. They trust the show and you have to respect them.” Louis Walsh, who completes the judging panel with Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger, added: “It’s great – there are so many other shows but this is the only one that matters.” The new series will also have fewer live shows. Simon explained: “The early and middle rounds rate well. So, the idea is to do more of the middle shows and less live shows.” The X Factor returns to ITV on Saturday and Sunday at 8pm.

NICOLE Scherzinger transforms into a feisty blonde for her latest magazine shoot, and speaks candidly of her battle with bulimia when she was in the Pussycat Dolls.

Happily for the X Factor judge, 39, her dark days are now behind her. She told Cosmopolitan: “I was ashamed, but once I finally did come out I realised how many people it helped.”
