SAY NO TO TRUCK TECH

-

# The plan to put driverless lorries on the UK’s crowded roads by next year is complete lunacy (Mirror, August 25). Our faith in technology and push for change has now reached ridiculous proportions.

It’s a form of computerised Armageddon.

Bearing in mind the appalling crash involving two lorries on the M1 at the weekend – and the eight subsequent fatalities in a minibus – it’s unlikely that faith in technology can ever rule out human error. Collin Rossini, Dovercourt, Essex

# Well done the Mirror for highlighting the abhorrent issue of overweight foxes in Finland – a so-called civilised country which should know better (Mirror, August 26).

Britain should lead the way and ban any imports of real fur. Decent people should not even consider buying real fur in this day and age, but sadly having money doesn’t mean you have taste – or a soul. Jayne Woodward, Barnoldswick, Lancs

# Regarding the NHS, who is going to oppose this creeping privatisation? Sadly, the people of this once great land have so much apathy there isn’t any fight in them.

Besides, I personally think the Tory ‘machine’ is too powerful to stop.

So, people of Britain, you may as well just accept it and get on with your lives as best as you can. Roy Mounsey, Rochdale, Gtr Manchester
