O’BRIEN DUO ARE BOTH UP FOR THE CUP

-

FATHER and son, Aidan and Joseph O’Brien (above), could both have contenders for the Melbourne Cup in November with Order Of St George and Rekindling.

Lloyd Williams solely owns Rekindling, while he shares Order Of St George with the Coolmore team of John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith.

Williams’ son, Nick said: “Joseph is very, very keen to bring Rekindling out here.

“And Aidan and the lads are a little keener to bring Order Of St George than they were last year.

“He’ll obviously run in the Irish Leger and we’ll see what happens then.”

The first nominations for the race close next Tuesday.

BOY IN A BENTLEY finally won his first race at the 14th attempt after SEVEN second places when he narrowly landed the Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding Novices’ Hurdle yesterday.

The Neil Mulhollandtrained sevenyear-old, ridden by Richard Johnson, edged out Mizen Master by a nose in a thrilling finish.
