SCOTT PLANS BREEDERS’BID

GEORGE SCOTT hopes to send James Garfield to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf despite his defeat in the Acomb Stakes at York last week.

The son of Exceed And Excel is likely to have one more run before heading to Del Mar in California for the mile contest on November 3.

“I think the rain cost us the race at York,” said Scott. “But he’s come out of it well.

“Frankie (Dettori) has ridden the winner of the Juvenile Turf three times and believes it will be suitable for my horse.”
