Brand rapped over morning radio sex talk
RUSSELL Brand breached broadcasting rules by airing sexual references on his radio show when children were likely to be listening, Ofcom has ruled.
The comic, 42, returned to a live Sunday morning slot on Radio X in April, nine years after resigning from his Radio 2 show over the Sachsgate row.
But the May 28 broadcast, in which he asked an Elvis impersonator, “Have you ever had sex as Elvis?”, was pre-recorded.
Ofcom said: “The content included sexual references unsuitable for a time when children were likely to be listening.”
In 2009, Ofcom fined the BBC over Sachsgate, in which Brand and Jonathan Ross left crude voicemails for Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs.
