‘Mobiles ban not enforced’
TWO thirds of drivers say the ban on using a mobile phone at the wheel is not being enforced properly.
And half of us believe even hands-free use while driving is dangerous, a government survey found.
Penalties were doubled in March to a £200 fine and six licence points after a Daily Mirror campaign.
But the RAC said: “Drivers do not believe there are enough traffic officers on our roads.”
Phone driving was a factor in 22 deaths in 2015, separate figures showed.
