Cosy and intimate, it doesn’t even have a till. Everybody in there just talks beer. An old hotel which hasn’t altered inside for 100 years. I like smallish pubs and I’m friendly with the landlord, Jason. Like stepping into a timewarp with old pinball machines and pianolas. It’s another cosy old pub, with low beams – and I’ve got a cousin down there. A huge array of beers and a lovely place just on the station. Another olde worlde place where nothing’s changed for years. Landlord Paul serves an excellent pint and has started brewing his own. A magnificent place only 100 yards from Euston but it’s under threat from HS2 and I’m upset. Great selection of beers with a good space out back to sit on a sunny day.
