Brewer boost for charities
Scottish beer maker Brewdog has vowed to donate 10% of its annual profits to charity.
That’s on top of the 10% profit share for staff announced last year.
Brewdog claims that, all going well, it will hand £45million to staff and good causes over the next five years. But the big winners remain Brewdog founders James Watt and Martin Dickie, who shared £100m by flogging a chunk of the firm to a US private equity outfit earlier this year.
Small investors in the firm were restricted to selling no more than 15% of their holding.
Accounts show Brewdog paid £561,000 UK corporation tax on profits of £7.1m and a turnover of £71.8m.
