THE BIG FAMILY COOKING SHOWDOWN
BBC2, 8pm On its new day of Thursdays, so as to not clash with a certain baking show over on Channel 4, it’s heat three of the cookery competition and two more families are facing off for a place in the semi-finals.
There’s the Pigott brothers from Oxfordshire and the Hilliard sisters and mum from Essex. And whether the Hilliards get through or not, we feel mum Jeanne deserves an award for making it through three challenges (not to mention 30 years) with two bossy daughters blaming her for everything that goes wrong.
They’re up against the handsome Pigott brothers, who like things spicy, and who – if they were to start a pop-up restaurant – would have young ladies queuing out the door most nights.
Each family must tackle the three challenges and impress judges Rosemary Shrager and Giorgio Locatelli to make it through.
