I was pleased to read that Josie Russell is to marry – 21 years after that horrific attack which left her mother Lin and six-year-old sister Megan dead (Mirror, August 28).

This week was my mother’s funeral after a battle with cancer and reading this news has really lifted my family’s spirits at a difficult time.

I would like to wish Josie and her fiance every happiness.

So the fatcat boss of Carnival, owner of P&O Cruises, has a salary 1,200 times that of some of his staff (Mirror, August 26). And Tesco CEO Dave Lewis “earns” £4.6million, yet staff have seen pay flatline.

It’s time we saw a more equal Britain.

Reading about the driverless lorries led me to thinking that rail is safer and much more efficient. If so many rail lines and goods yards had not been scrapped, we would now have a great transport system.
