Docs ‘fail to spot cancer’
BLOOD cancer patients are dying because family doctors fail to spot the symptoms, experts warn.
Up to one in four patients with some types of leukaemia are initially treated for something else, leading to potentially fatal delays in diagnosis.
Leukaemia CARE found just 44% of 2,000 patients it questioned felt their GP properly understood the condition.
The charity said: “We urgently need to improve leukaemia awareness.”
