You don’t deserve more than £3.5m, judges tell tycoon’s ex

A WIFE who complained that a £3.5million divorce payout from her tycoon ex was unfair has lost an appeal.

Former air hostess Karen Hart, 61, wanted £5million after her split from 82-year-old business mogul John Hart after 20 years of marriage.

But Appeal Court judges yesterday ruled it was fair – as Mr Hart was already a multi-millionaire when LOSS Karen Hart yesterday they married in the 1980s. He had built a property empire after starting out on his father’s market fruit stall in the 50s. Mrs Hart was awarded 37% of the £9.4million fortune, with a £1.1million mansion near Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. The pair, who have two grown children, spent £500,000 on legal fees. Lord Justice Moylan, dismissing the appeal, said: “An equal division would be unfair to the husband.”
