LCD SOUNDSYSTEM

-

Announcing a career end as a means of getting to a new and enhanced peak is a trick LCD man James Murphy learned from his pal David Bowie.

This ‘comeback’ album is a triumph, Murphy’s synthesised mastery wed to songs both meditative and joyously weird (How Do You Sleep).

A range of influences are apparent – New York electro pioneers Suicide (Oh Baby), Talking Heads, even Bowie’s Eno-assisted era of synth innovation.

But comeback or continuation, American Dream is a triumph.
