Superstar Mbappe joins PSG
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN added another elite forward to their ranks by clinching the signing of teenage scoring sensation Kylian Mbappe.
The French giants got around FFP regulations by persuading Monaco to let them have striker Mbappe, 18, on loan for the season.
PSG could not afford him permanently after their signing of Neymar for a world-record £199million from Barcelona.
They will loan Paris-born Mbappe for a year and have the option to buy him for £166m next summer, a fee that would make him the second most expensive player in the world.
Mbappe scored 26 goals to fire Monaco to last year’s title. And he came on as a substitute in France’s 4-0 demolition of Holland last night to earn his fifth international cap – and scored a brilliant goal.
Mbappe said: “For all young players from Paris, it is a dream to wear the red and blue shirt and taste the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes.
“I was attracted by the club’s project, it’s one of the most ambitious in Europe.
“I want to continue my development, while helping the team to achieve the great goals they have set.”
