MARV HEARS BUZZ ABOUT THE HORNETS

- BY MIKE WALTERS

MARVIN ZEEGELAAR sealed his move to Watford after sounding out Sporting Lisbon team-mates about head coach Marco Silva.

The Dutch left-back, 27, was one of three arrivals on deadline day at Vicarage Road, clinching a £3million deal on a four-year contract.

He passed up the chance of Champions League football for the Premier League after glowing reports about former Sporting coach Silva.

Zeegelaar (right) said: “I heard good things about the coach. I never played under him, but everyone who played for him at Sporting had only good things to say.

“I’m excited to join the group, start training and I feel I have a lot to offer. This is a club that wants to grow and I want to grow too.”

Silva also landed Greece keeper Orestis Karnezis and Mali defender Molla Wague on loan from Udinese.

Keeper Costel Pantilimon, who did not make any Premier League starts after joining 10 months ago, has gone to Deportivo de La Coruna on a season-long loan.
