Barra set for trip to the Park

GLORIOUS GOODWOOD winner Barraquero will step up to the highest level in the Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket on September 30.

The Brian Meehan juvenile proved too strong for Group 2 opposition in the Richmond Stakes on the Sussex Downs, beating Nebo by one-and-aquarter lengths.

The trainer said yesterday: “He won easily at Goodwood, but it took him a few days to recover.

“So we gave him plenty of time and the plan is to go for the Middle Park. We’re very happy with him now and I’m looking forward to it.”
