Jeremy Vine says sometimes they record five editions of Eggheads a day, which can get a bit tiring. He explains in his new book What I Learnt: “We’ve had several instances of Chris Hughes and Barry Simmons falling asleep during recordings. Some have even been broadcast.” Food is apparently key. “Once, the Eggheads got through 40 bags of crisps in two days.” Gosh.
