YOU SAY
To the woman who recently wrote in to say she was stuck indoors with two children because she has no car, I’m sure she has a pushchair.
In every town I’ve ever been to, you’re within walking distance of a park or church or other open space.
When my own children were young and I had no car, I’d do the housework quickly in the morning, then in the afternoon I’d take them to the nearest park, church playgroup or to meet friends.
A run round in the open air for a couple of hours will keep them happy and less liable to squabble, plus you’ll meet other mothers and make friends. Good luck to you. Kathleen, via email
