WENGER: I WON’T GIVE UP ON LEM

ARSENE WENGER has vowed to continue his pursuit of Thomas Lemar. Arsenal made a late £90million bid for the Monaco forward (below) but could not complete the deal on deadline day. Wenger confirmed he will try again for the French international, who he believes did not want to rush into a lastminute move. Wenger said: “We bid for Lemar but the player wanted to stay in Monaco. But we’ll come back in for him.” Wenger has tipped Kylian Mbappe, who has joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco, to become one of the best players in the world. “He could be the next Pele,” he said. “There are no limits for him.”
