HERO’S KING-SIZE SALUTE

- BY JAMES NURSEY

BEN WOODBURN received a round of applause in the Wales dressing room after his wondergoal.

The Liverpool teenager struck a brilliant winner four minutes after coming on to massively boost Wales’ World Cup hopes.

His superb strike in Cardiff, aged 17 years and 322 days, makes him Wales’ second-youngest goalscorer behind Gareth Bale.

Midfielder Andy King (above) revealed: “We all gave him a round of applause in there. He is delighted and so he should be. He needs to savour that moment and that is something he will always remember. “It was an outstanding goal but the significance of it as well was really important for us. It was a great strike, unbelievable.” Leicester star King added: “I am sure he will go on to do big things for us. He has a good head on his shoulders and is a down-to-earth lad. “We are a good group. It is a good environment for him to learn.”
