IT’S FORGIVE AND FORGET FOR PHIL

- BY DAVID ANDERSON

PHILIPPE COUTINHO has been named in Liverpool’s Champions League squad as the Reds attempt to move on from his failed switch to Barcelona.

The Kop playmaker (left) made his comeback from injury in Brazil’s World Cup qualifying win over Ecuador, coming off the bench to score.

Liverpool are keen to draw a line under the messy failed-transfer affair and Coutinho remains a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans – unlike Nathanial Clyne, who couldn’t find a place in the European squad, raising concerns that his back injury is long-term.

Coutinho is in the squad that will take on Sevilla tomorrow week.

Liverpool boss Klopp also hopes to include Coutinho in his travelling party for their next Premier League game at title rivals Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime.
